Comments

  1. The former vice president and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate has a history of playing songs from his phone recorded by artists appearing with him at a campaign event.

  2. Most of Kyle's criticisms of Biden are accurate.

Buuut, in this particular event, Biden was introduced by Luis Fonsi (the writer/performer of Despacito)… so, he wasn't randomly pulling a popular Spanish-language song out of nowhere.

  3. Kyle, while I normally would agree with you, sort of… this is a little out of context. The man who introduced Biden was Luis Ponce. Its not AS cringe as you are making it out to be.

  4. I realize that saying something like this on a thread like this might get me roasted, but I can honestly say that it's hard to deal with minorities as a "non-minority." This is only my personal perspective, mind you, but black and brown Americans often come off as almost like the cool kids in school who are never going to accept you no matter how hard you try to please them. They'll roll their eyes and sneer – and sometimes outright get hostile – when they see you doing "whitey"/"gringo"/"roundeye" stuff, but then if you try to "be like them" they will mock you and/or attack you all the more.

When I discuss this issue with my fellow non-minorities, they say, "That's just the way it is. This is their time now, and it's just smart to indulge them." But I've learned over the years that the best way to "indulge" them is to simply not evoke race at all. Even if THEY play the race card, they expect people like me never to. Anyway, I agree that it's best to appeal to people's sociological interests rather than their cultural ones. I don't think we even have "cultures" in America. I certainly feel very alienated from people who are "in my own culture."

  5. This title has melted several self proclaimed liberals even though they are lite Republican at best. Specially that tik tok screaming lady.

  6. I’m not familiar with the song, but some have put some of the lyrics in their comments — smelling a woman’s hair, whispering in her ear, etc. Sounds like Biden’s theme song! I think you or someone should have a psychiatrist on to explain how the majority of pols in DC are so disconnected from reality! It is SO bad, there has got to be some pathology there and I would like to know what it is! Are 99% of the just sociopaths? Delusional? What?
