I know several past college students that got loans, just because it was available. They used the government grants to pay for their schooling, but got the loans and went shopping. One lady said she took several loans out back in the 1990’s and never paid any of it back. She dropped out of college after receiving the loans and grant money. She said she got married and wanted to be a “stay at home mom”. She is happy that our American taxpayers will now pay for her debts and the money she spent. This is so unfair to our taxpayers. If Biden wants those loans paid off, then he should be the one paying them. Taxpayers should not have to pay for anybody’s shopping sprees. IJS 🇺🇸

Can't we just blame Biden for the student loans being astronomical in the first place? It was his, and his boss's, administration who federalised all student loans, incentizing schools to increase their fees 1000% since 2010. Do something about THAT!

Do you think university administrators bear some of the blame for the debt load folks are carrying?
Could this be a facet of the Cloward & Piven strategy? The way I understand it, the Cloward & Piven team's idea was to so overload the system with benefits for everyone that it had to crash, leaving nationalization of resources and socialization of our nation's economy as the only choice left. (I am sure their summation would be more florid and lovely as to how it benefits the poor but that is true of everything they say.)
From where I sit, the university system members, by encouraging young people to spend time and the nation's treasure to pursue degrees that are so obviously of no worth resulting in a graduate who can add no value to the nation other than turning up the volume on the divisive state in which we find ourselves, have committed the greatest theft by deception in the history of the world, right up there with the creation of the Fed. (Then again, their role in turning up the heat may have been the point of those degrees.)
These students were indoctrinated from the time they first walked through a K-12 door that college equaled success in life and that all others avenues were abject failure, financially, intellectually, and personally.
So, to do my own summation, after all the trillions we have spent on foreign wars, after all the trillions we have spent on the war on drugs, the foreign aid we have sent to those who hate our guts so badly it burns their bones making them lie awake at night dreaming of how to kill us, after all the trillions of pork spent to earn votes in their districts…
…don't you think helping out those Americans who were indoctrinated, deceived, and then even denied the opportunity to bankrupt in front of a judge who could evaluate their individual circumstances might not be such a bad thing?
Unfair? Yes, indeed. No doubt it will be unfair to those who paid theirs off. Absolutely 100% unfair, but their is so much unfairness in our system right now it is about the same as arguing over which side of a neglected outhouse stinks worse…and still the best place on earth.
I did not know the statistics you talked about here, so I am going to have to think about them as to whether they modify my opinion, but for now, I am filing this student loan thing under the 'even a broke clock is right twice a day' heading. As much money as we transfer to the rest of the world – ALL of which is unfair – giving a little relief to Americans seems okay to me.

I think this is a plan (stunt) that over a period of time is to federalize college. Sanders talking about free college, much like public education (paid with federal, state, local). When you see the indoctrination going on in public schools and the taxpayers are paying for that through (federal, state, county) taxes they are trying to break the backs of the taxpayers. Most universaties are left, so all you would have to do is seperate the student from the loan, where he or she could attend there without repercussions of financial liability.

I paid for a BA degree and an MBA myself-100%- no loans and no help from parents. It took every bit I had-down to money I received for First Communion! The point is that I went to school where I could afford and figured my own finances. Now I have to pay for someone else!! Infuriating!
