Builder abandons projects goes on a Thai holiday

#constructionapocalypse #housingmarket #heisesays
While clients are complaining that their builder has abandoned their projects, he’s been on holiday in Thailand. I suspect someone saw the writing was on the wall.

  1. It's a limited, so If he made good money the years before and it's just impossible with rising material and labor costs, it's probably not worth to keep it alive, by pumping your own money in.

  2. There is a consistency here. Heise blames "juicing" the market, I don't entirely blame this on the Govt. intervention. The biggest issue to me, is the fact that the Govt' offered these deals and then the builders themselves took on contracts that they were unable to complete. If the buillders had not grabbed so greedily for the money, they could have settled on a much more sustainable scenario which would have increased their profit revenue due to demand and not impact the supply by wanting everything at once. Now instead, the market is in serious disarray, houses are not getting built and billions are being lost across the board… Not just the builders themselves.

  3. I’m confused if you have half a home you should only have paid for what’s been u should have the rest to finish yourself…surely there is a clause in the contract if no work is being done terminate contract & finish yourself 🤷‍♂️..not ideal but aint the end of the world.

  4. You smash up your house and put your faith in a builder ????

Just get some plywood and cover up the holes, make a portaloo and shower and live in your house ( no rent). They made a massive mistake and need to deal with it.

  5. we voted for the libs for a decade who said the housing marking was a supply issue not boomers being too greedy issue boosted by all the incentives and years of shit governments, now builders are collapsing when we allegedly need them most, all while apartments and homes sit empty. The age of houses being touted as a quick buck is at an end and all that took part will pay the price. the ultimate winner is no one and the true loser is all of us.

  6. When I had my portaloo out the front, it was a requirement from Council. But I had another one in my garden shed at the back that we used with the caravan we had rented and put on site for our accom. while we owner-built our BV&I 4 bed suburban res. Fortunately the adjoining block was not built on for the duration of our caravan living until we reached lockup stage and we moved in unfinished and I was able to build all the cabinetry and install it, paint in and out, and build the deck ! I guess you would not be able to do this nowadays, or would you, in outer suburbia? Comments.?
