All do respect, I wouldn’t want China to control anything… they are the opposite of what we as humans need to be.
What ever did Taiwan do to China? Nothing. China is just a domineering a-hole. So you answered your own question. Not that it was a question to begin with. :p
Instead of trying to woo these island why not just take them and get it over it?

Even though the Chinese navy is bigger than the US navy in pure numbers (number of ships, not totalt tonnage), the US navy is more powerful, better trained, has newer technology, more aircraft carriers, better missiles, better fighter jets and last but not least, allies such as Japan, South Korea, Australia, India and others, that combined, dwarf China's navy. So it's not much to be scared of.
