Christopher Hitchens — Speaking Honestly About Hillary Clinton

Christopher Eric Hitchens (13 April 1949 – 15 December 2011) was an Anglo-American author, literary critic and journalist.

He contributed to New Statesman, The Nation, The Atlantic, London Review of Books, The Times Literary Supplement, Slate and Vanity Fair. Hitchens was the author, co-author, editor and co-editor of over thirty books, including five collections of essays, on a range of subjects, including politics, literature and religion. A staple of talk shows and lecture circuits, his confrontational style of debate made him both a lauded and controversial figure. Known for his contrarian stance on a number of issues, Hitchens excoriated such public figures as Mother Teresa; Bill Clinton; Henry Kissinger; Noam Chomsky; Diana, Princess of Wales; and Pope Benedict XVI. He was the elder brother of the conservative journalist and author Peter Hitchens.

A noted critic of religion and an antitheist, he said that a person “could be an atheist and wish that belief in god were correct”, but that “an antitheist, a term I’m trying to get into circulation, is someone who is relieved that there’s no evidence for such an assertion”.[13] According to Hitchens, the concept of a god or a supreme being is a totalitarian belief that destroys individual freedom, and that free expression and scientific discovery should replace religion as a means of teaching ethics and defining human civilisation. His anti-religion polemic, New York Times Bestseller, God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything, sold over 500,000 copies.

Hitchens died on 15 December 2011 from complications arising from esophageal cancer, a disease that he acknowledged was more than likely due to his lifelong predilection for heavy smoking and drinking.

6: Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9: For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

  2. Yes, Hitchens heavily criticised the Clintons. But if you think for one second that means Hitchens would have supported Trump then you've taken the wrong measure of the man. He favoured Obama and spoke positively of Biden in 2008, while calling Palin a disgrace. Hitchens didn't like the Clintons, but he would detest Trump. (Hitchens called Trump a "nutball narcissistic tycoon" as far back as 1999.) He unquestionably would have ended up voting for Clinton, not that he would have been happy about it. Though I think if we could ask his opinion he might quip that faced with no other choice than to vote for Clinton he's rather glad to have died before the ballot took place.

  3. I disagreed on god with him but still a great thinker and sceptical. I'm the same way as him, people call me a sceptical or great thinker. Totally agree with him about Clinton.

  4. Clinton and Obama's democratic parties topple governments by causing uprisings with there crony soros. Look this message is timeless until hillary jr. Runs for politics.

  5. Who's here in 2020 just wondering how ironic this is. Hitch died in 2011 – yeah 9 years ago and this sounds like he was speaking last week or in 2015/16.
What's more put this into the context of the Bill Clinton & Jeffery Epstein photos. ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♀️?‍♀️

  6. We need to go back to the original way of picking candidates for the presidency , which was if you seek the office you are ineligible for the office !!!
We need to have a 1 day campaign & voting day on the same day !!! Only write in votes!!!

  7. Hillary Clinton is the most dangerous and dishonest politician of my lifetime, and I remember Nixon. She has been rejected in every way possible – in a country that has a great deal of underlying racism, she was rejected in favor of the first black President, then, in the middle of the Me Too era, she was rejected for an open misogynist.

  8. Cannot be forgiven for what they did in Haiti. Just horrific. Devoid of empathy for anyone but herself. If you look up narcissist in Webster Dictionary, theres a picture of her.

  9. Hillary is obviously a phony but this guy is no better. He lied so much that he got throat cancer. He also supported the war in Iraq which killed millions of innocent people.
