  1. Hollywood should be banned from making war movies. It is so dangerous to represent war as "heroic" or soldiers have having qualities above the average man. A VERY small portion of soldiers were well trained. And these were killed or maimed in the early weeks of both world wars. The vast majority of fighting was done by poorly trained conscripts who rarely even fired their rifles, and had to be high on meth or alcohol to fulfill their duties. The brutalization of normal men happened over a few weeks, or days in many cases, and the killing of civilians was done mostly out of paranoia and insecurity of knowing that they weren't brave nor skilled in combat. A civilian in a house with a ppsh could be equal to any german infantryman. Many fulfilled their duties because their families would turn them into the authorities if they deserted, but many, especially officers, found ways to stay out of combat and to fulfill their duties as heroes of the rear. Soldiers are just men under pressure, who are scared, sick, weak, lonely, and vulnerable, and they acted as such.

  2. This film is shamefully underappreciated. Come and See is One of the greatest film I have seen. This masterpiece truly depicts the scale of the horror of WW2.

  3. It is a masterpiece! It reminds me of an older Werner Herzog movie in the atmosphere and sound. I just seen this Come and See for the first time a few days ago, and that is strange, because I like to pride myself on seeing about all the great movies there are to see, but I never heard of this before a few days ago.

  4. The man who made this wants to show everyone the horrors of war, he wants to shock and wants people to reflect. He wants to make something that would affect the viewer and make them feel.

    Hollywood wants money.

  5. Am I the only one that wished it showed more violence? Like when the German soldiers at the end get killed they cut to the Russians shooting them instead of showing them get ripped to shreds…still, what a great film.

  6. TALK ABOUT SUFFERING FOR YOUR ART!I BET KEVIN KOSTMORE NEVER HAD TO WORK THIS HARD,JESUS,BOBBY DE NERO EAT YOUR HEART OUT! At first I thought "1985 foreign film, get ready to fall asleep"…but I'm not sure if I even blinked. This is pure masterpiece
