Even Henry Kissinger Knows Ukraine Can’t Win – w/ Chris Hedges

Former Secretary of State and widely reviled war criminal Henry Kissinger addressed the collected elites at the World Economic Forum to state his support for a diplomatic solution to the Ukraine war, arguing that cornering Vladimir Putin could have devastating long term consequences. Naturally, liberals freaked out at any progressives who pointed to Kissinger’s comments as evidence that the pest path forward in Ukraine is a negotiated settlement.

Jimmy and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges discuss whether even Kissinger deserves to be listened to on the Ukraine war issue.

  1. It is so obvious that Kissinger is trying to save the West… Both militarily and economically. I don't see how there can be a humiliating defeat for Russia since it is Russia that is pulling all the strings at the moment. Russia and the DPR are literally liberating Eastern Ukraine with the support of Eastern Ukrainians. Those who have been bombed for 8 years by Kiev. I think that Kissinger meant that if the EU doesn't want to collapse and starve, it should pressure Kiev in releasing the Eastern territories, engaging in NOT entering NATO, and respecting a Minsk 3 agreement (Kiev didn't respect Minsk 1 and 2 BTW).

  2. The experience of the 2 world wars should educate us that you either have to compromise with your enemy or destroy them, there is no in between. We learned that and destroyed Germany and Japan. Are they contemplating that with Russia? Are they insane? Sweden, then Napoleon, then Hitler tried that, it's not possible. We need to accept that we can't destroy Russia and find a compromise peace. I know is sounds like appeasement, but it's just the way it is.

  3. Kissinger is aware that he is close to knocking on St Peters Gate and his resume is atrocious! He is only pulling this narrative for some sort of redemption. A Leopard don’t change their spots. He is worried that Ukraine will spoil WEF plans. Too late re Russia and China 🤣🤣🤣

  4. "The Squad" is controlled opposition. Pretending to be progressive, while actually still working for the oligarchs, they prevent any true progressive change. AOC and crew should be ousted as the pretenders they are… they're doing more harm than good.

  5. So now to please Putin, your in bed with Henry Kissinger??? Your now 100% on the right and no longer a progressive!!! Green lighting Putin's invasion is nothing more then warmongering! If Putin wants to fight Nazi's he should start in Russia who has some of the largest Nazi gangs in Europe!!! Fact

  6. Kagan is different. He's a schemer, a planner, a conniver. "Hey, I've got a great idea! How about a new Pearl Harbor so we can have an excuse to bomb the hell out of Afghanistan and Iraq, and maybe throw a few more countries in while we're at it." I've got some clients over at Grumman and Ratheon who need the contracts. Oh, Dick Baby. Your Halliburton will be in the mix, too."

  7. Jimmy, the reason why Kissinger said what he said is because he knows that if you get into a fight with two big players, the only thing that could happen is for you to punch the first player and then get kicked in the ass by the other player…
Just watch a couple of episodes of the Three Stooges and you can see how that works out lmao 😂😂😂…
Kissinger is right, and if the establishment is going to keep this up, then we'll be facing WW3 with both Russia and China at the same time!!! The biggest targets for both of them would be the military industrial complex assets and some of the population centers here in America!!!
The turds at the top of the decision making process are being led around by the same damn people that you mentioned in this video…

  8. I just thought about this, and now I'm wondering if our asian allies are considering setting up a new organization called ATO?? The Asian Treaty Organization that will be set up for dealing with China and their perceived threat to So-called American Interests!! The only interests that these idiots care about is all the money that they can grift from it!!

  9. The only reason Kissinger is airing his opinion now, is that the lift of 40 billion out of the US tax base has already happened. No reason to waste that money now on a lost couse, or for "Ukrainians" who the US only pretend to care for anyway.

  10. Although Kissinger spoke on video arveef you cannot find on YouTube one version that contains him saying Ukraine must cede territory, that trying to destroy Russia will bring economies of west down, nor him saying it is error to drive China and Russia closet together. So there is a blackout on the best points of Kissinger statement. We live in a 1984 state where all media censor facts that promote peace.

  11. I would like to know how much Putin paid Kissinger for his unbiased opinion about surrendering territory to a Fascist aggressor. He doesn't do anything without being paid in advance.

  12. Essentially interesting commentary. But is anyone in the universe really entertained by "jokes" that are colourlessly read off of a sheet of paper? No? Didn't think so.

  13. I hope Jimmys right wing veiwers take in what Chris is saying when he states that we dont have a "left" in this country. Political correctness and wokism has been fabricated by a corporate media to discredit actual "leftism". We have to find common ground here my fellow Americans.

  14. America an Oligarchy

We are different from all the oligarchies of the past, in that we know what we are doing.
All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites.

The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they cannot had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just round the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal.

We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end.

One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship.

The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power.

Is the United States of America any different, any better?

Are we not in a long line of and are we not the embodiment of …

    The Master Race
    American Exceptionalism*
    The Earth’s Last Best Hope**
    The Indispensable Nation***
    The One Indispensable Nation**

The first reference to the concept by name, and possibly its origin, was by French writer Alexis de Tocqueville in his 1835/1840 work, Democracy in America:

“The position of the Americans is therefore quite exceptional, and it may be believed that no democratic people will ever be placed in a similar one. Their strictly Puritanical origin, their exclusively commercial habits, even the country they inhabit, which seems to divert their minds from the pursuit of science, literature, and the arts, the proximity of Europe, which allows them to neglect these pursuits without relapsing into barbarism, a thousand special causes, of which I have only been able to point out the most important, have singularly concurred to fix the mind of the American upon purely practical objects. His passions, his wants, his education, and everything about him seem to unite in drawing the native of the United States earthward; his religion alone bids him turn, from time to time, a transient and distracted glance to heaven. Let us cease, then, to view all democratic nations under the example of the American people.”

    President Abraham Lincoln
Annual Message to Congress — Concluding Remarks

    Washington, D.C.
    December 1, 1862
One month before signing the Emancipation Proclamation, President Lincoln sent a long message to Congress which was largely routine, but also proposed controversial measures such as voluntary colonization of slaves and compensated emancipation.

“… We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth. …”

It is the threat of the use of force [against Iraq] and our line-up there that is going to put force behind the diplomacy. But if we have to use force, it is because we are America; we are the indispensable nation. We stand tall and we see further than other countries into the future, and we see the danger here to all of us.
    Madeleinee K. Albright,
    U.S. Secretary of State (1997–2001).

Stated on NBC's Today Show (February 19, 1998)

"The United States is and will remain the one indispensable nation in the world. Now, sustaining our leadership, keeping America strong and secure means we have to use our power wisely," Obama said in his address to the American Legion in North Carolina. August 27, 2014 ( not the first or last time he uttered these words )

    Please note, President Obama
clarified and specified “… the one indispensable nation …”
The President, thus, closed the rhetorical door on any other nation being “indispensable.”

In meaning and use, “the,” definite article, acts as a function word to indicate that a following noun or noun equivalent is a “unique” or “a” particular member” of its class; i.e. “the” President as compared to “a” president.

President Obama, of course, knew this being “ivory league” educated at Columbia University (B.A.) and Harvard University (J.D.)

“Repetition is necessary to catapult the propaganda.” President George W.Bush
[ “See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda.” — George Bush, “President Participates in Social Security Conversation in New York,” May 24, 2005. ]

  15. Our oldest war criminal knows things have gone to seed in DC. I mean, this was all predictable, and predicted. If I knew the Russians were going to prevail (and it aint over yet, but still), that means the political class, especially the Dems, are either collossally stupid and ignorant or liars or all of the above. There are NO diplomats anymore in the US, just ignorant neocon types who repeatedly lie and do dumb, arrrogant shit and nothing happens to them. I'm looking at you, Victoria Nuland.

  16. The Russian are NOT going to be humiliated–they have the upper hand here. Kissinger has to know this. I've beeen saying since the second week of the war that it is the "west" (the US and it's police force, NATO) that miscalculated.Everything–the surge in the ruble, the blowback of sanctions harm on the US and Europe, the defeat of the fascists and Nazis in their stronghold, Mariupol–has gone the opposite way gullible Americans were told would happen. How long can this be hidden?

  17. Why is that toady Zelensky always tricked out in a green tee shirt? Is he trying to come across as a workng-class hero or something? It's only a matter of time before he wakes up in the morning and sees a goat staring back at him in the bathroom mirror.

  18. "Henry Kissinger is the greatest living war criminal in the world today, with the blood of millions of people in Vietnam and Cambodia and Laos and Chile and East Timor on his hands. He will never appear in a court or be behind bars." ~ George Galloway
