Something happened to the Guardian when Alan Rutbridge left, it's changed completely. It left it's left radical roots, it's sceptical approach to western power, became co-opted by M16, and focused on the culture war. That's my impression just from reading it since the late 90s. It's a tragedy.

Even though he's just one small independent reporter, Aaron's veracity as journalist is a rarity in this world of massively bought/sold media operations. So who would attack Aaron? The US Center for Information Analysis and Response formed in 2017, works with global partners, foreign, corporate, etc., to create and disseminate " fact based narratives i.e. propaganda, disinformation " through all channels of public engagement, TV, print, movies, entertainment etc.. "The Center" was created through the passage of a bill H.R. 5181 known as " The Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act" which is funded by US taxpayers and private donors. Me thinks, "The Center " has something to do with this.
The Guardian is basically a woke, establishment mouthpiece with an heir of so called "faux radicalism" that panders to the millennial laptop workers in the inner city, who sneer at the working class or anyone with a different opinion to their trendy causes The paper is filled with "opinion pieces" and unbiased reporting barely exists. The amount of space devoted to the culture and gender wars is evident that it has lost its way with the broader community. It's basically garbage and the fact it smears Aaron is further evidence ( not that you need any) that Aaron is on the right track.
