As a senior House Intel investigator and Trump administration official, Kash Patel helped unearth critical misconduct by the intelligence officials who carried out the Trump-Russia probe.

In his first extended interview since leaving government, Patel tells Aaron Maté that still-classified documents expose more malpractice, as well as major evidentiary holes in the pivotal — and largely unquestioned — claims of a sweeping Russian interference campaign to elect Trump in 2016. According to Patel, the release of these critical documents was “continuously impeded.”

“I think there were people at the heads of certain intelligence agencies who did not want their tradecraft called out, even though it was during a former administration, because it doesn’t look good on the agency itself,” Patel says. Among the tradecraft that Patel criticizes is the hastily produced and highly consequential “Intelligence Community Assessment” of January 2017, as well as the FBI’s reliance on Crowdstrike — the DNC contractor that generated the Russian hacking allegations despite later admitting, behind closed doors, that it lacked concrete evidence.

Patel also discusses other aspects of his time in the Trump White House: a secret mission to Syria; Trump’s record on foreign wars; and the January 6th riot at the Capitol.

Guest: Kash Patel. Former senior government official in the Trump administration, where he served as senior director for counterterrorism at the National Security Council, and chief of staff to the acting Secretary of Defense. Previously, Patel served as a top investigator on the GOP-led House Intelligence Committee, where he was instrumental in exposing US intelligence misconduct in the Trump-Russia investigation.

  1. You're a top notch interviewer, Aaron. …first time watching you actually interview someone. Great questions, and you let the interviewee speak. Cheers!

  2. Leave it to the Wall St. Democrats and Lincoln Project Liberals to turn Trumpenstein into an almost sympathetic figure as a target of deliberate malfeasance.
Their toxic wake will leave a lasting legacy of cynicism and disgust among the American public for generations to come.

  3. The three wars aren’t stopped & most likely will not be. He wasn’t exactly truly accurate with regards to that. I wouldn’t put it past him if he was bolstering the Trump admin slightly. Overall, good video though, with regards to ‘stopping wars’ alongside the capitol hill ‘fiasco’ he should have been pushed more. IMO.

  4. I'm still trying to figure out why a republican run Congress and DOJ would do this investigation in the first place if there was nothing there. You all do know that the minority party which was the Democrats can scream all they want but they can't bring an investigation like this and certainly not bring in a special counsel.

  5. I don't know why it would be Russia, Vlade strongly denied it. Then later says I meant to say wouldn't. Doesn't allow anyone from our side in the meeting with Putin and then wonders why people have questions.

  6. His answer spells the hostage is dead. God knows that I hope I am wrong. I am sure that investigator saved a few lives. At any rate, thanks for sharing your role to we the peoplee of some details of your many riswks on humanity's behalf.

  7. In the beginning he says he made some transparency agreement for his participation. Is that agreement in writing? I've never been in the DOJ so I don't know how enforceable an agreement even in writing on a secret issue could be. While the story could be correct, stinks to me. Later he speaks of himself as a "staffer" so why does such a middling staffer have bargaining power with the USA?

  8. US troops may be dwindling, but no mention of contractors (and no, not the ones who build backyard decks and swimming pools), who still are there with US financial support. Just another neoconservative in sheep's clothing.

  9. I wish there was a little more " Pushback" on his blanket statement about Russian interference although this was informative in various ways . That being said its clear this guy only cares about exonerating Trump from any collusion with Russia (limited hangout 101) .

  10. He lost any shred of objectivity and credibility when he began defending Trump "ending" three theaters of war, when challenged he promoted that moving troops sixteen inches across the border equates to ending hostilities. The D. C. mayor asked for Nat. Guard assistance on 06 Jan. and Guard units standing ready to respond on the Virginia border could not move because they were ordered not to respond by DOD.
