How Liberalism Aids Fascism

Click here for the full episode, including an extended interview with Dr. Charisse Burden-Stelly: https://usefulidiots.substack.com/p/extended-episode-how-liberalism-aids?r=je5va&s=w&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

Dr. Charisse Burden-Stelly, professor at Carlton College, coordinating committee member of the Black Alliance for Peace, and author of many books including the upcoming Black Scare/Red Scare, has had it with liberals pretending to care about regular people.

Biden promises to help people with student loans while prosecuting bankrupt people in courts. Obama pretended to fight for civil rights while shutting down protests in Ferguson. Kamala Harris claims to help migrants while blaming them for underlying causes and telling them not to come. Liberal media calls to aid Nazis in Ukraine while ignoring genocides in other countries.

And just this month we got the newest liberal win:

“Ketanji Brown Jackson said Bush and Rumsfeld should be tried for war crimes, but that’s easy to say in retrospect. She didn’t say Joe Biden should be tried for war crimes, or Obama, or Kamala Harris.”

And to all the people who do criticize Obama, she’s not cheering them on either.

“Obama’s an easy target now, but where were your antennas in the moment?”

The scholar goes through a history of liberal lies and war crimes and comes to the stark conclusion that “liberalism has always been amenable to fascism.”

Plus, Dr. Charisse shares her reading list of books by Black scholars, and when it comes to controversies over CRT and the 1619 Project and other issues of race, she only has one piece of advice: just read Gerald Horne.

It’s all this, and more, on this week’s episode of Useful Idiots. Check it out.

  1. There is both a scientific means to understand and practice politics, the praxis Is the lab. Unfortunately, Universities rarely hold space for radical political theory and even less so radical political action. so political science gets conflated with being really good at parliamentary procedure, which in all honesty is something I can teach anyone, but you can't teach someone to be a good and just person that has a political theory that would translate into radical policy if ever they were politically empowered.

  2. In all seriousness, that crazy Walker guy is probably a Republican Trojan Horse paid for by a right wing super PAC, in an effort to weaken and dilute the Democratic votes in CO.

  3. Great interview…for an academic, Dr. C.Burden-Stelly is bright with common sense and a broad wingspn pov. I look forward to hearing more from her, particularly in these gramatically challenged times.

  4. ok that's it. if the socialist utopia can't guarantee dunkin donuts make up, i am a life long socialist am leaving and joining the republicans. it's just too much…such a disapointment

  5. What a disaster it would have been if Bernie lost to Trump instead of Hilliary. This last election proved the Dems ran a corrupt turnip and beat Trump!

  6. Glad that she touched on "supply and demand". That is a completely artificial and fabricated construct in economics, that is simply based on GREED. Generally speaking, greater demand has absolutely zero impact on the cost of goods produced. It's simply profiteering!

  7. Great episode, as usual. It seems so obvious that a CNN stream was doomed from concept. It is inherently those who wish to seek their "news" from the "reliable television networks", and solely from that source, who are disinterested in "internet mis/mal/disinformation" whom you are targeting.😕

  8. There won't be a nuclear holocaust.
WWIII is possible. It's good for the economy.
The whole nazi-Ukrainian thing is Russian propaganda, spurred on by Ukrainians who are Anti-Russian. The actual Fascists (The kind that use chemical weapons to "ethnically cleanse" a certain demographic) are the Russians. Want to know how to check this? Check to see who the Religious Right supports in this conflict. (It's sure ain't the U.S.).

  9. Dudes, like 8 people believe in Q. That sht drives me crazy. I've never and you're never gonna meet a Q believer. I heard Maher say it the other day. Yall are fkg brainwashed with that Q everywhere crap. Why do you and most of I'd guess, viewers. Of which I'm one from the beginning, question everything the msm says but buy into that Q crap? Fkg mind boggling. And im not a crazy right winger btw. So im coming at you from a place of support.

  10. It’s not just the sanctions on Russia that are hurting the US. Sanctions on Iran and Venezuela have also limited the country’s energy options, and for what.

And the Amazon Union, I’d even accept if AOC said she made a decision to not publicly support because she thought it would draw too much negative attention and thought it would be more successful if she stayed out of it.

  11. Communism is against all nationalism, not just black nationalism. The reason for this is because it believes in the unity of the working class. And not just believes, it thinks it’s the solution to capitalism. Workers of the world; unite!

  12. Michael C. Hudson, the economist, recently stated that he fully believes the US leadership is prepared to destroy civilization rather than allow a multipolar world. I take him at his word, and have long suspected the same.

  13. When I was in high school, a thousand years ago, I read an essay by Herbert Marcuse is which he argued that liberals will support fascism to fight socialism. I thought he was right.
