Not trying to debunk the story or anything, and I get that you left this part out for comedic effect and all, but I did at least a little bit more research than VICE (one google search for the original article), and found an older story by Lorenzo about the same software issue.
Meaning that your story wasn't completely random, you cleverly knew he'd covered the same device in the past and that he'd take the bait as a result. That being the case, the software issue they're referencing is probably the original one from when it was a legitimate thing.
Which just goes to show, unless someone else doctored up the previous story as well… GETTING YOUR CHASTITY CAGE HACKED IS A LEGITIMATE THING. What a world we live in.
