Just like some people hate being dependent on the government. You'd call those people deplorable. Or crazy right wing. Or alt right. So what was Lincolns problem? How dare he want freedom.
Interesting discussion. This guest stated that Lincoln held a Jeffersonian view regarding freedom. Jeffersonian??? Uhhh…Thomas Jefferson had children by (at least) one of his slaves. He allowed these children to remain slaves…to remain HIS slaves. Additionally, Lincoln…the alleged greatest President, did NOT believe in the equality of ALL men.
I rarely comment on anything anymore, but what a great podcast and great guest in particular. If nothing else, watch the last 15 minutes. Excellence in everything, and respect for everyone…yes sir.
Lol defending ObamaS continuing use of military force when Trump actually did find a way to peace without using them. This guy's a joke.
private property is illegitimate. Capitalism is organized crime. Infinite growth is not possible on a finite planet. The biosphere is indivisible. Revolution or collapse
amazing this guest is so smug and delusional …. but what do i know
FDR intervened in the Great Depression and elongated the struggle. And… Joe Biden is attempting to unify the people like FDR? Really dude, you are lost on the deeper history. And an obvious Dem.
Completely wrong about mass shooting statistics, unfortunate to hear from him
@lexfridman Please interview Kevin Cherry who is a historian at the University of Richmond
This guest rocks!
England has an aristocracy and also no formal you.
I love how obama routinely objectively did things evil with war and censorship but yall suck his cock while shitting on trump who did nothing, just because of how they are culturally percieved and their personalities.
Close your eyes and this guy has the same voice as David Frum
US caring for some nations and not for others!?
Do you guys realy belive that!?
US obused their own people and was stilling from others and is continuing to do so.
US protected most of the Nazi scientists and
give them jobs.
The British ruling class where Nazis themselfs.
Hitler had no problem with the British until they started bombing Berlin.
I love your podcast, but idealizing a war criminal does not impress me.
What makes a "Just" war? Well to understand that, one needs to separate the shit from the sugar. So how does one do that? People must get precise with their language. Meaning most people need to shut the fuck up and think before they mindlessly speak. That takes conscious effort.
Fact is, there is no such thing. On a fundamental level, the synonym for war is failure. "Politics" IS success. War is inherently the greatest failure humankind can manifest . War is what is left when politics fail. How does politics fail?
1st. Those in a population who are temporarily granted the burdensome honor of directly engaging in politics either deceived the population or have become impotent to deal with the matters at hand.
2nd. The population at large becomes so lazy, self absorbed, apathetic & void of character, shucking responsibility has become commonplace.
1 + 2 = War
Fantastic. History with no filler.
Obama literally executed an American citizen with no judicial oversight. This guy said he had a moral position against violence and that he in fact reduced international violence — but that’s complete bullshit. Obama formalized extra judicial murder of Americans without due process.
Thank you for another great episode:)
Vaccine mandates and passports are not "political bickering" they are a class war of totalitarianism, seeking to end a free civic society in the west. And to give to the state the right to total control over your life through its passport digital ID system.
As for the environment. It is with the indigenous peoples that we must stand beside, not western corporations wars against them. They are not responsible for the ecological crisis, we are. This insane machine system is. it's about time we started cleaning up our mess and stop blaming the poorest people on Earth for it.
Hilarious you apparently missed the part where it said enemies foreign and domestic!?!?
No one can control outcomes? I guess lawyers and judges don’t exist.
one country's national hero is another country's terrorist leader.
By god this guy is clueless about america. Historian in Texas, that figures!
How about no nuclear weapons at all instead of keeping the other guy in check about how many they have? Just sayin…..☮❤
Holy smokes, the interviewee came to an event I attended recently! It was mostly retirees, and the guy tried the whole "centrist" thing. It was funny to see the room slowly realize he is just a liberal
Hahahaha! Lincoln the greatest? America's first NeoCon, what a sick joke!
‘The greatest president was Abraham Lincoln.’ presses stop
Lex mate have this guy again – he is the best
Lex "I've been hanging out with a guy named Joe Rogan recently" Fridman 25:05 🙄
This guy is awesome. But man he needs to shave his head.
Suri fails to note the mass murders of Roma; Communists and Gays. Kissenger is a war criminal.
How did intelligent people think Biden was a good person and a leader? dude has a 40 year record of being a lying narcissist. He claimed he graduated at the top of his class but was 68 out of 72. He said he marched with civil rights leaders but was verifiably not in those states at the time he claims. He plagiarized speeches. His treatment of clarence Thomas was shameful. He pinched a young girl nipple and groped several other children…. He isn't a good person or a leader. He is a typical politician that enriched himself and his family first and foremost. He was rightfully rejected in the 80's for his lies but somehow being in DC for another 25 years was a benefit?
Good podcast but little understanding of the 2nd amendment
Abraham Lincoln is the only president to fail so miserably at democracy that his country split in half and literally tried to kill each other in civil war.
Love it man
James Gandolfini!?
It’s fascinating how Hitler based all his early Eugenics policies from different states in the US…..the US were leading the popular “scientific” movement of Eugenics……a touch of scepticism about all people in power is as necessary as a pinch of salt in a dish.
az this point just shave your head
Comparing Jefferson to Lincoln is like comparing Nixon to MLK
The only question I have after listening to this great, informative cast is: why is it so difficult, seemingly impossible, for someone so knowledgeable and understanding of the mission and what it really takes, like Jeremi Siri, to become the President of the United States?
