  1. Off the top of my head some of the most recent laugh out loud movies: A Beginner's Guide To Endings, Hoodwinked, Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, The Croods, Galavant (musical series), Galaxy Quest, Land of the Lost, A Million Ways To Die In The West, Walk Hard, What We Do In The Shadows, Zombieland, Seven Psychopaths, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Zoolander, Wild Wild West, Tucker And Dale vs. Evil, Into The Woods (musical), Elf, Shoot Em Up (action thriller but it made me laugh too). Daddy's Home 1 and 2, had some moments and I enjoyed R.I.P.D; I don't know how much I laughed out loud but it was okay. I liked the romantic comedy Just Friends. Then some B flicks: The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared, Keeping Mum, A Little Bit Zombie, The Grand Seduction, The Grand Budapest Hotel. I could go further back to a list of classics (like yes – King Pin, Throw Momma From The Train, War of the Roses, Death Becomes Her, She Devil, Four Rooms, The Big Lebowski, Men In Black, Baby Boom, The Santa Clause, Harry and the Hendersons, Weekend at Bernies, Blazing Saddles, Monty Python And The Holy Grail, The Great Outdoors, Planes Trains and Automobiles, The Gods Must Be Crazy, Young Frankenstein, The Princess Bride, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Pink Panther Movies slayed in their day, Eddie Murphy had some great ones, and so on and so on, etc.). Go from 1999 and backwards and I could list them off all day, but I can't think of anything recent. I keep telling myself there must be some but I just can't think of any. Maybe there aren't any. So really, good laugh out loud movies stopped around 2004(ish) with a smattering of odd ones up to the early two thousand teens. Wow – time goes by fast.

  2. Blazing Saddles, Airplane, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Naked Gun, Young Frankenstein, Caddy Shack, The Jerk were all great comedies that studios probably wouldn’t touch today. Nothing being made today can even be classified as comedy.

  3. One thing they would never be able to make nowadays.. I think it was called All in the Family? With Archie Bunker. Because the entire premise is that, although Archie himself is not a hateful guy, he says some racist stuff and holds some very ignorant views. Thats the comedy though; the audience being able to read between the lines and spot the ignorance that Archie himself is oblivious too. He would have been you classic good natured god fearing American working all day and coming home to his wife. He was not someone who critically thought about anything political. Despite being highly opinionated… like most people who have a job and family life, he wouldn't have much chance to explore any new ideas. So anytime we see him have a realization about his ignorance it has to be in response to witnessing the contrary or getting to know people better. But the context of the show would be irrelevant nowadays and would be written off as promoting or glorifying racism 🙄.

Honestly its my opinion that if we stuck with comedy like that and the deadpan humor or a much more intellectual humor rather than having a decade or two of straight up slapstick (not done as well as The 3 Stooges either) and very raunchy comedy, we may have been better off. I mean, why do so many female comics talk about their stanky crotch nowadays? The best comics in my opinion were the smart storytellers or deconstructionists. Nowadays its pot smoker personalities. Very few comedians I would actually watch. I sound like I'm 60… IM IN MY 20's!!! Sometimes I find it sad how some stuff from the past were practically lost due to politics. Not completely. But we definitely dont see certain things done as much. And comedy is one of those things where, in my opinion, its been maimed. Safe comedy. 15 years ago that may make you think "ah family friendly". Now its just "politically correct". They are gonna serve you the raunchiest one liners they can, not fit for childs ears, but it will be politically correct nonetheless. And again, very few cases to the contrary. So much so that those people tend to make headlines for it. I'm really hoping that pendulum starts swinging back this way soon…

  4. The last couple of comedy movies that I actually laughed out loud at (in regards to how recently they were made) would probably be Superbad and Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. I haven't found modern comedy movies to be funny, and that's been for quite a while. I tend to prefer older comedies made up to the 1980s. For me the 80s were the last great decade for most things: movies, music, etc. There are some newer things that I have enjoyed, but in general it seems like things have started to go right down the crapper once the 90s began.

  5. I mean, The mob got an episode of The Office cancelled. People who don't understand the comedy and the character of Michael Scott. All of these SJWs don't have an IQ above room temperature…

  6. I thought Free guy was pretty funny, that's pretty recent, also Jumanji movies had some good humour in them and Deadwood got a few belly chuckles from me. There's still humour out there, but it's not the same as it used to be. Good thing/bad thing who knows?

  7. Just watched waterboy yesterday and was thinking the same thing. The last newest movie I seen that was ok would probably have been the new Halloween movie. It was good but felt like it ended too fast and instead of adding more to it they cut it and had to make another. Kind of like dlc for movies.

  8. If companies would just not care about offending people, and just ignore the woke mob, they'd be beaten, but they're taken seriously and it screws everyone. Same for regular people. Just stop caring about the woke people
