Technocracy is the core of Cyberpunk genre, especially with table top games like "Cyberpunk" and "Shadow Run". Mega Corps pretty much take the central role of government , despite legitimate governments actually existing. These Mega Corps also have private armies, corporations of Professional Private soldiers (which we've seen National Government increase their use of Private paramilitary companies like the former "Black Water" in the US) who have military grade equipment. If you paint the backdrop with a rise in robotic, wearable tech, and even bionic prosthetics- that's Cyberpunk. A dystopian future ran by Big Tech, and often Authoritarian Governments acting in the interests of Big Tech.

But, are they at odds? Or is all the world a stage? I have to wonder at times. I've been labeled a CTist most my adult life however I don't lock my goats and small children up.
