I remember so many years ago, watching a dvd of Eddie Murphy's 'Raw' performance, when he was talking about how he contacted Richard Pryor over the phone, concerned that Bill Cosby had complained about how "filthy" Eddie's comedy was. Richard asked Eddie, "did anyone laugh?" Eddie said hell yeah, lots of people laughed; Richard then told Eddie "Tell Bill to have a Coke and a smile (referring to a commercial), and shut the fuck up!" Point being, comedians shouldn't have to tread so carefully when they are, in essence, the epitome of parody and satire. If people are offended by what they say, just don't watch their performances, don't try to ruin their careers!
