Jay Bhattachary is a professor of medicine, of Economics, and of Health Research Policy at Stanford University, and the director of Stanford’s Center for Demography and Economics of Health and Aging.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Bhattacharya was an opponent of lockdowns and mask mandates. With Martin Kulldorff and Sunetra Gupta, he was a co-author in 2020 of the Great Barrington Declaration, which advocated letting the virus spread in lower-risk groups with the aim of herd immunity, with “focused protection” of those most at risk.

  2. I was treated like an outcast while pregnant for not taking the vaccines. Now, I can't bring myself to give my baby any vaccines because I don't trust these monsters. Was never anti-vax before. Definitely am now.

  3. "Lockdowns were focused protection of the laptop class and the vulnerable old"

You forget the people who, by their own actions, have wrecked their immune systems. These people — who gather in the San Francisco area, and are active in politics there — have an enormous amount of sway nationally because of the money that Silicon Valley can pump into the political system.

  4. "We've known how to deal with these things for centuries. Why have we suddenly thrown away hundreds of years of knowledge?"

Francis, I didn't know you were a Conservative.
Christians in the West have been asking these questions ever since the 1920s.

  5. I wonder what basis it is that any of these experts still decree that the jab is lessening severity? We know omicron is less severe in and of itself AND there doesn't appear to be any data or proof, peer reviewed, that the jab ever reduced hospitalisation without accounting for the mutation of the virus. It is yet another layer to the discussion about just how harmful mandates were. Why keep repeating that they reduce severity as fact when it is not evident?

That after all of this people can still debate the ethics of mandating people to have some hypothetical future jab is astounding and disappointing! No one has the right ever to tell anyone else that they must sacrifice their autonomy, health or life for others. It must always be choice.

Also each infection of covid seems to increase the risk of long covid or other side effects and scientists/medicos fully acknowledge they don't know why and YET we are still giving boosters without considering that it may be the spike protein!!!!! Ugh.

  6. Covid – the most intelligent, nuanced, subtle virus in the history of the universe. The only virus capable of understanding emergency laws and insane restrictions and abiding by them.

  7. As non Americans you might not remember there was an election to win, and trump was cruising to reelection, Dems saw an opening an decided to destroy the country to win. Aren’t they great?

  8. Great interview gents. Good content here; we cannot "move on" from COVID in a healthy manner until we clearly align as a society on the truth of the suppression, manipulation, overreach, and ineffectiveness of the response.

  9. Children were the number 1 victims of covid lockdowns.
Schools shut down, play centers shut down, leisure centers shut down, park gates chained shut, not aloud to see friends, not aloud to visit grandparents and the worst crime of them all happened in Wales when the Christmas fire break lockdown was brought in on a Friday evening 3 hours before stores closed, 4 days before Christmas. TOYS WERE LABELLED AS NON ESSENTIAL ITEMS AT CHRISTMAS 🤬 It was heart breaking to see the ques of panicking hard working parent's trying to get something, anything to go under the Christmas tree for the children that had given up everything that year. Market stalls selling toys were shut down by the police and council.
    Heads need to roll

  10. So if I join locals, I get a free regular meal with you two. Just how regular is that? Once a day? Once a week? Once a month? Or are you referring to regular size meal, y’know like a McDonalds Quarter Pounder but I can’t have it upsized?

  11. Thank goodness for comedians, poking holes and letting the sense through. Love Dr. Bhattacharya and am very grateful for the Great Barrington Declaration 💛 📜 💪.

  12. No wonder the rumors about genocide and population control abound. Who were the "wrong people" that were actually protected? No one seemed to be protected, certainly not the elderly, as advertised.

  13. One issue I wish were explored is that, as I understand it, almost 80% of those who were hospitalized or died from Covid were obese. If that's accurate, or even nearly accurate, that should be a HUGE (pardon the pun) story. Why isn't it?

  14. Of course Youtube put one of those boxes about seeing that latest info on Covid from the CDC…. Do they realize, we don't trust the CDC anymore? Great interview guys, very informative.

  15. If kids are not at risk but the old are, we should never mandate. We used to accept the old would take risk to save children.

As a society we are completely broken due to a desire to sacrifice they young for the old.

  16. So he states how lock downs did exactly what they were intended to do (so a success) but then claims they failed at achieving something they were never intended to do. Crazy "logic" to justify being wrong. Another strike against honest conversation.

  17. The people who imposed mandates and lockdowns absolutely should be indicted. The need to be taken to court and held liable. They violated Nurenberg laws along with others. They slaughtered people and ruined lives. Forgiveness is a LONG, long way off. To even bring that up is idiotic. First we need accountability.

  18. The real problem is the alternative to lockdown required a nuanced, well funded, thoroughly drilled, flexible and sophisticated nation wide plan… which did not, does not and wont ever exist. It is a level of competency and foresight that current govts are not capable of. This is an area where what we SHOULD do and what we CAN do, don't co-exist.

  19. Francis' argument is muddled. Becasue event B happened after event A it doesnt mean that A caused B. The West didn't lockdown becasue China did it first and thought it should copy them.

  20. Cancer screening wasn't stopped by the lockdown, it was stopped by the NHS being inundated by people having Covid. If the lockdown had not happened the very problems you are complaining about would have been worse. I like your channel and agree with a lot of what you say, especially about free speech and wokism, but your coverage on covid and your opinions about it have been completely moronic.

  21. This heroic man has more courage, honesty and integrity than all of the group-activity imbeciles in the world, put together. No words for how much respect I have for Dr. Bhattacharya, as well as for every one of his brave colleagues who signed the Great Barrington Declaration. Amazing people, need more of this caliber.
    Awesome interview.

  22. This guy is an insider. He belongs to the community that lied and coerced us. I've known about him and the New Barrington declaration. He is quite charismatic and a good talker, but his entire presentation smacks of the insider that he is. He is not neutral. He gets a lot of things wrong. He is overrated. He is not a trailblazer by any means.
