  2. He can't commit that he understand here and there somethings wrong, sad. And to make it clear, I did that too. Whether Putin killed here and there particular people or not, who's care, others will be not so much better. But that Russia has 600 Billion in cash, almost no debits, is from my point of view a sign of incompetence, the Putin administration was not able to provide the country the urgent needed investments in health and education sector, not good. To got to war to your neighbor? Its like beating your wife or girlfriend, or boyfriend, a NO GO. As simple as that. Anything else? Sure, this is Christmas, birthday an eastern, all on the same day for weapon producers, they got us, where the wanna to have us. Means there was a long term trend before this by extending the NATO (big Misstakes). This war was absolutely avoidable and there is nothing to win, because who wins, when Russia collapse? Answer, China and who wants that?

  3. Lex, thank you .
It's to me so obvious, that evil is evil, because can deceive even very smart men .
Mr.Oliver is so perfect example of this.
Made me laugh, when he said, Putin is serving needs of his people..
Looks like he speaks what he wants to believe. How can you not love this innocent naivety? It's applauseable ,from my point of view, to be able to keep your naivety so fresh and youthful..

  4. This is so unbelievable. He leaves out the fact that The Russian government will lock you up for disagreeing with the government. There is zero freedom of speech and free press in Russia. There is only state tv. Does he not listen to all the reporters who have had to flee Russia or the ones who have risked everything to speak freely.

He does not have a problem with Putin slaughtering Ukrainian people, simply eliminating cities with bombs, to rid the world of Nazis?!?! I’ve heard that from Putin’s mouth. I don’t doubt that white supremacy is present in Ukraine, but it’s so absolutely ridiculous to think that it would be justified to do what Russia has done to Ukraine, to mitigate white supremacy or nazism?!?!

This is just the tip of the iceberg on this. Stone is so willing to accept the most flattering possible Russian account and the worst opinion of the US. I honestly don’t know if Russian people collectively have as rosey of an opinion of Putin.

This is straight up propaganda. Actually, the interviewer got his opinion but without any contention. I feel that you have to challenge a bit. He basically just didn’t ask any difficult questions.

  5. Sad to see such a gifted director being completely consumed by Russian propaganda – he's not said a single negative thing about Russia in this interview – there's no perfect country. Stone sees himself as a rebel – he's happy as long as he's swimming against the mainstream, that's his trademark and he'll uphold this whatever it takes.

  6. Oliver Stone's inability to express the truth that multiple things can be true at the same time is disheartening and disappointing. He is stuck in the 1960s counter cultural mindset. As in all things: there are arguments that contextualize Russian foreign policy and Putin's actions as something other than a cartoonish foil to the West. However, Oliver choses instead to go the opposite: naively venerating Putin as some cartoon man: a mystic warrior monk of the Russian people, using Russian propaganda to cite his claims.

Ironically, Oliver cites George Orwell's novel 1984 multiple times in his attack on Western Media all the while through the interview he uses the same big brother obfuscation to dither from speaking to Russian policy as it actually exists, but instead on what he wants it – and the Russian state – wants it be presented as.

Despite Olivers long dithering to defend Russia, all he had to say was Putin is fighting for Russian interests within a specific historical and cultural context. Russia has a view and a destiny outside of the west which he wants to enact. Some of these interests involve delusions, greed, desire for power etc. The United States also has interests some of these interests involve delusions, greed, desire for power etc. The difference is he clearly could not contain his loathing for the United States as a country or as a power, and he could not contain his joy at propping up a false representation of the current social, economic, and foreign policy of Russian power.

I would recommend if anyone is interested in understanding this point of view of the "usful idiot" to listen to Yuri Bezmenov. A man with his own bias to be sure, but still offers more context that Oliver when observing Russian foreign policy and cold war history.

  7. Sounds like ole what's his name is talking somewhat favorably of putin. We don't care what the background ism, in this case, just no putin sympathisers allowed because there's no possible way those people in Ukraine deserved to be murdered for no reason, back 8 years or so ago and now.
Nuclear could kick ass, so Oliver is correct about that. Tesla style industrialism will make solar and wind work 24/7, too (but as far as I listened, he forgot about that).
America first so we can better help others after we build up (whatever) massive clean energy.
Oh, and fuck off, "Brandon" 🇺🇸

  8. What an epic liar. As an expert closely following the situation in Ukraine, I can say with greatest certainty possible that everything he said about Ukraine is a complete opposite to the truth. He cannot even say the surname of Medvedchuk, not Medvedev, correctly. Not to mention that Ukraine is a clear democracy and there were nor killings. He basically told a bunch of dirty lies about people who are now suffering from the war started by a bloody Russian dictator. And there no Nazi battalions in Ukraine whatsoever either. These are actually lies that justify criminal actions by Russia and horific killings of Ukrainians. It's quite possible he is being tons of money by Russians to spread this propaganda. Super shocking and horric actions by Stone. It's a shame he was even given a voice. The host should think twice before inviting such guests.

  9. I stopped at 28:27. That's too much. I'm from Ukraine where children, women and old people are brutally killed by russians every day. It's just beyond my comprehension how this man, an American can talk about this bunker thug in this way. This is just discusting.

  10. It's so painful to see how Oliver Stone hesitates to condemn Putin morally. Instead just making excuses after excuses, like he does with all his favorite dictators.

Meanwhile his criticism against the West is relentless. So biased and unfair.

Stone is the prime example of good old commie self-hate in the Western world. Our internal enemy. It sucks that we have so many internal enemies like this. They are today represented by the woke domination of course. Oliver Stone is a relic, the old style commies are all +60 years old and dying out, but it was this type of leftist dissenters that paved the ground for the woke tyranny we're about to enter. The West has a very dark future.

  11. I typically love your interviews, but Stone has shown through the years a very pro-dictator stance & disguises his views in the guise of “interviews”.
Let’s be clear about the fact that Putin is a megalomaniac dictator that is a ruthless murderer. Same with Hitler & you “babied” Stone’s opinions on both. You didn’t show a spine in this interview Lex. This was a very disappointing interview to see. I will continue to watch your interviews because they are excellent…but you lost your balls with Stone. “Zalensky is ineffective”….this guy has done too many drugs. Zalensky is one of the greatest leaders in human history. Stone is a communist clown

  12. If we come up with FUSION, fine! But the massive collateral use of concrete, ever scarcer water for constant cooling, and oil-product dependant infrastructure and the waste storage problem (not to mention 1000 yr. "Dead Zones" case of a "slip up") and the neccessity of ongoing central control for "security" concerns ( an excuse to keep Pakistan under "Western" control and worries over "doversion" for "dirty bombs" by non-state actors etc.) belie Mr. Stone's "nuclear cheerleading" here! ( I WILL admit, though, that the Chernobyl "exclusion zone" at least, LOOKS like a thriving nature preserve and the 90 year old "babushkas" who "would NOT be moved" who live there still ( ! ) ,seem to be thriving but IF part of the argument here is that the dangers of radiation are "overblown" I encourage him to MAKE IT, which, as far as I know, HE HASN'T) ! As a lfetime believer in the "old" aphorism (that I just MADE UP) that "Desperate times call for VISIONARY measures" who's personal ideas of a good place to live is a MUCH less "consumer driven" ECOTOPIA I can't help but woder, "?whatever happened to "HEMP CAN SAVE THE WORLD"!
