  1. 24:30 Molly brings up the really deep stuff, re: Norm’s Christian faith. And just like clockwork, it’s totally glossed over; subject changed immediately. This reminds me of that national tragedy. Norm was a firebrand.

  2. 2 minutes in…and you understand immediately why Norm had to hide "it". He's probably laughing up there…..or he's down there being f@cked by the devil. Either way…he was a good man.

  3. Rare to find someone just honestly being themselves and saying what is so hard to put into words, that was his genius . His comedy act was just a medium for that genius.

  4. There's this really profound moment I noticed at the 13:12 mark, where it's almost as if Dave Chapelle realized though his laughter that Norm is no longer with us. Almost like during that thought a bittersweetness came over him, and how much Norm impacted his life. Just my interpretation, but I've dealt with some real loss in my life and I know that look from a mile away. It's a look that no matter what, that person you're talking about and laughing and reminiscing about is no longer with us. It's the type of thought that stops you in your tracks and makes you question existence itself, if only for a moment.

It's kinda crazy because I remember when Norm died, not even a week later my brother passed away. I always feel like his death in an odd way, through proximity, will always be tied to that for me. RIP Norm. Truly a one of a kind comic genius.

  5. I know this is about Norm and how great he was but can we just take one second to acknowledge how beautiful Molly Shannon still is? She looks the same as she did back in the 90s and still hot!!

  6. Chappelle is the best. He speaks from the heart. Conan was pretty good but Letterman was focused on "audience" for some weird reason. Very good video.

  7. You know how great you have to be to have this many GIANTS speaking so highly of you? The amount of respect that Norm had from comedians was crazy. Definitely one of the goats

  8. They should have replaced Chapelle with Arty. Dave was clearly high af too and kind of made the vibe weird.

Arty probably would have yelled over everyone, but he was good friends with Norm.

  9. The only was I can express what Norm was is that I think of him of a trickster. He just loved to be the trickster, laughing at everything and annoying the established ummm….norms. (shockingly pun not intended) Like the little characters in plays, the harlequin(?) doing commentary behind the actors' back when they are doing their scenes. But he was doing this in real life. With everybody all the time.
