Gonna say, you're giving too much credit to liberal parents. Brought this up to mine, and her take was 'what's the harm', and defended not telling parents because 'what if the parent takes it badly and hurts their child; the teachers should be able to hide it from them'. When the point of reporting a parent that beats their kid to CPS, I was told the system was broken (so obviously we need more systems that won't break/be abused because. . . Reasons), and that, short of being given Hormone Blockers by the schools outright, no damage was done so it's fine.
