  1. Deliberately, with an objective, timed to coincide with adverse weather.
Create the crisis then offer the solution.
An event designed to put people off in-store shopping & make them prefer online shopping.

  2. Had something similar happen to the Canberra Centre Mall in Feb 07. A supercell storm hit during the night (the only time I have ever seen black patches on the BOM rain radar). The hail was also quite heavy and didn't melt away until after midday the next day (note this was still summer so the daytime temps are usually around 30°ish)
Apparently the hail clogged up the mall's drainage pipes (filled them up and then froze the rain water to cause a nice big plug of ice). The incoming rain then took the path of least resistance which was into the ceiling cavity which then caused the ceiling to collapse.

  3. "Customers caught off guard"
There's a person filming and doors were half shut, that would suggest water was leaking into the shop.

Ceilings aren't designed to hold rain away.

If you're caught off guard by all the warning signs, you're stupid.

  4. Have you ever tried to take a big construction company to account ,Lawyers charge you $12000 a day . But a positive note shopping in the meat dept you might get a nice roast while all the commotion taking place …
