Discussing the the NRL pride jerseys and the immense social pressure for the Manly 7 to submit despite their religious beliefs…keeping in mind that Muslim AFLW player Haneen Zreika also refuses to wear pride themed uniforms but does not face the same pressure.

Those words right there is exactly what I've been experiencing and I'm f,ing jack of it.
Extend the logic, why should I have to acknowledge an Aboriginal-only "Voice to Parliament"? You can see how Australia will balkanise.
Totally agree. I've been saying that for years about the 'women's equality' movement. Equality was achieved, but these activists can't stop being activists so they keep pushing increasingly extreme agendas that are not healthy for our society or respecting of individual's rights across the board. Politicians don't help because they will back anything if there's a vote in it. There probably should be a publicly funded debriefing course for when activists achieve their goals to help them re-enter society as a non activist.
Same in NZ. The Iwi are becoming powerful separatists and are gaming power.
Well said, EJ.
The big issue, particularly with the "pride flag" uniforms, is compelled speech. The uniform is designed to show support to a particular cause, but if you are forced to wear it, that is compelled speech. Compelled speech, though this really shouldn't need to be said, is WRONG. It is so fundamentally wrong that most people probably don't think much about why it's wrong, or why freedom of speech is such a fundamental right of all people (a right that is seldom acknowledged by political powers).
To speak something that you do not believe, is effectively and practically, to lie. That has a terrible impact on a persons soul, to speak what you know to be untrue. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn knew this, from bitter experience. We do not need to go through that again to learn that lesson personally. No matter how hard it may seem, it is always better to tell the truth than to lie (that doesn't, of course, mean that everything that you or I think will turn out to be correct, but the important thing is to not knowingly lie, to others, but especially to yourself). People who want to control you (usually, but not exclusively, the government) are all too happy for you to repeat lies. The government will, at times, do all they can to make sure you lie to yourself and others, it gives them immense power over you and demoralises individuals greatly.
"And the simplest and most accessible key to our self-neglected liberation lies right here: Personal non-participation in lies. Though lies conceal everything, though lies embrace everything, but not with any help from me. This opens a breach in the imaginary encirclement caused by our inaction. It is the easiest thing to do for us, but the most devastating for the lies. Because when people renounce lies it simply cuts short their existence. Like an infection, they can exist only in a living organism." – A.I. Solzhenitsyn, Live not by Lies
Sooooooooo true …I don't care what people do but ! Well done
US sports (e.g. NBA) have experienced massive declines in fan attendance at games and viewership on television, with fans citing the sport's adoption and pushing of "woke" ideologies. People attend and watch sporting events (and other forms of entertainment) to be distracted from the stresses in their lives, but when those forms of entertainment also start including those sources of stress then people naturally don't want to engage with them. It is a MASSIVE mistake for sporting codes to become involved in political or cultural debates as it always ends up damaging the sporting code.
True.
Damn straight. My kids are complaining that every new picture book or junior graphic novel they pick up, has more gay characters than straight, rewrites of classic stories have different ethnicities inserted as if to make a point. it's getting to the point that they don't see themselves in stories anymore.
Saw a cop car with Dan Andrews face on it saying ‘make Victoria great again’
it was too much when they got an entire month.
My dad always uses this quote…. “‘A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still.”
Well said.
Spot effing on.. 👍
One flag to rule them all? If that's the case then I'll choose any one that's adorned with a cross. So my saltire will do just fine.
They're simply just messing with some of Orwell's ideas & seeing what ones actually work.
