They’re Worried About The Spread Of Information, Not Disinformation

We’re in the final countdown to British Home Secretary Priti Patel’s decision on the fate of Julian Assange, with the WikiLeaks founder’s extradition to the United States due to be approved or rejected by the end of the month. Joe Lauria has a new article out with Consortium News on the various pressures that Patel is being faced with from both sides of this history-making issue at this crucial time.

And I can’t stop thinking, as this situation comes to a boil, about how absurd it is that the US empire is working to set a precedent which essentially outlaws information-sharing that the US doesn’t like at the same time western news media are full of hand-wringing headlines about the dangerous threat of “disinformation”.

  1. I'm not a believer but having attended a Christian college in my youth, I would assert that there are three (3) takeaways from the Bible. 1) Treat others as you would like to be treated. 2) The love of money is the root of all evil and 3) When an angry, embittered Christ threw the Capitalists out of His temple, that's when they decided to kill Him. Everything else is exposition.

  2. American empire has spent years getting to this Orwellian moment of Ministry of Truth & Thought Police. Our overreach of torturing Assange is part of OUR killing of the world’s free press. It has to silence critics of our war crimes.

  3. F*ck the Corporate-controlled "establishment" that has stolen The People’s legitimate government. ALL governments are like this, and yet they do not have to be. They have been purposely build in the shape of pyramids. Pyramids of power. Corporate power. NOT People power. OUR power is still with us!! OUR power is in our solidarity and this world belongs to US! Resist and deny the Corporatists!

  4. Most of the worlds most popular media outlets are controlled by western corporations and western intelligence agencies. How the hell can Russia be able to compete against such monsters as CNN, MNBC, Reuters, AP, Fox, CBS etc and be responsible for spreading “disinformation”? Do people actually believe that Russia could do this? I don’t. The only media outlets that are spreading disinformation are the Western controlled media propaganda outlets.
